Join us for our Advent Carol Service on Wednesday 2 December at St George's Cathedral, London
Immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of traditional Advent hymns and Christmas carols as we gather at the beautiful St George's Cathedral in the heart of London. It will be an evening of music and reflection, and we will be joined by special guests Leoni Malewezi, Ben Lamb and Adeniké Adewale.
Ben Lamb is an actor of stage and screen. He is currently reprising his role as Hector, Duke of Buckingham in season 4 of the Julian Fellowes period drama The Gilded Age (HBO), and is known for his work on The White Queen (BBC), Divergent (Lionsgate), Now You See Me 2 (Lionsgate), and the Christmas Prince series of films on Netflix.
He is a Norvegophile and has been learning Norwegian for 4 years.
Ben will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for us in 2027.
Adeniké is a singer-songwriter from London. She was a contestant on The Voice (2020), under the mentorship of coach and musician WILL.I.AM and successfully reached the semi-finals of the show and has since become the leading performer of the show 'Whitney: Queen of the Night' in theatres and arenas both nationally and internationally. Adeniké is also a passionate youth leader at her local parish and will perform at FLAME 2027, the UK’s largest Catholic youth gathering.
Through her work as a CAFOD Ambassador, Adenike has supported our mission in a variety of ways, including school visits, inspirational talks, concerts and other charitable initiatives such as running the London Marathon for us last year. She also performed at the Raising Hope gathering in Rome, an international event inspired by Laudato Si’, where she had the privilege of singing in the presence of the Holy Father.
Leoni Malewezi is a Vocal Studies student at the Royal Academy of Music, studying under Alex Ashworth. She began singing at nine as a chorister at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, later serving as a cantor and lay clerk. She has performed as a soloist with choral societies including Birkenhead Choral Society and at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. An alumna of Glyndebourne Academy 2025, Leoni performed in Westminster Opera Company’s 2026 production of La bohème in France. She is also a former choral scholar at St George’s Cathedral, Southwark.
St George’s Cathedral is blessed with a rich musical tradition incorporating professional singers alongside children aged 5-18. The Children’s Choir, Junior Choir, Cathedral Choir and Cathedral Consort sing regularly for the major liturgies at the cathedral, and many of our young members are recruited through the Archdiocese’s music education initiative, the Southwark Singing Programme, which works in 15 schools each week and impacts thousands of children. The Director of Music is Jonathan Schranz and the Cathedral Organist is Alex Flowe.
The cathedral is easily accessible by public transport. It is a short walk from Lambeth North Underground station on the Bakerloo line. London Waterloo, Southwark and Elephant & Castle stations are also nearby and within a 10-15 minute walk. Numerous buses serve the area.
The main entrance is on the corner of St George’s Road and Lambeth Road (SE1 6HR). The reception will be held on the first floor of Amigo Hall. There is a lift available, as well as stairs to your left as you enter.
